Rheumatologists are Internal Medicine subspecialty experts skilled in the
non-surgical treatment of rheumatic illnesses, especially arthritis. Rheumatologists
have special interests in unexplained rash, fever, arthritis, anemia,
weakness, weight loss, fatigue, joint or muscle pain, autoimmune disease,
and anorexia. They often serve as consultants, acting like detectives
for other doctors.
Rheumatologists have particular skills in the evaluation of the over 100
forms of arthritis, and have special interest in rheumatoid arthritis,
spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, antiphospholipid
antibody syndrome, Still disease, dermatomyositis, Sjogren's syndrome,
vasculitis, scleroderma, mixed connective tissue disease, sarcoidosis,

The Rheumatology department also offers the skills of a Nurse Practitioner
with a subspecialty in arthritis & rheumatology. The Nurse Practitioner
works as part of the Rheumatology team, collaborating closely with the
Rheumatologists to provide the highest quality of rheumatology care.

MHMG Infusion Center
The Rheumatology department also provides a state of the art Infusion Center
offering the latest in drug therapy for Osteoporosis and autoimmune diseases
including Rheumatoid Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Psoriasis, Psoriatic
Arthritis, Behcet's Disease, Wegener's Granulomatosis, Crohn's
Disease and Multiple Sclerosis. The center is currently serving physicians
and their patients in our community and all of Orange County. The infusion
center offers a professional and personal touch while patients are carefully
monitored. Patient education is emphasized and addresses patient questions
or concerns about their health status.
The MHMG Infusion Center offers expert, dedicated care with a wide variety
of infusable medications including Remicade (infliximab), Orencia (abatacept),
Boniva (abandronate), Reclast (zoledronate), Solumedrol (methylprednisolone),
Benadryl (diphenhydramine), Tysabri (natalizumab), Cinryze (complement
C1 esterase inhibitor), Rituxan (rituximab), Actemra (tocilizumab), intravenous
antibiotics, and IV fluid solutions and electolytes.
