Physician Bio

Andrew Nik, M.D., is board certified in both neurology and vascular neruology and stroke with fellowship training in stroke and vascular neurology.

Dr. Nik was born in Irving, Texas and grew up in Dallas. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Dallas, where he was also a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He obtained his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, where he was awarded with the medical student prize for excellence in neurology.

Then Dr. Nik completed his residency and stroke fellowship at the UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, where he was a neurology chief resident. During residency, he received numerous awards, including a teaching award. He was also elected to membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

"Neurologic illnesses can be challenging, but we are discovering new treatments every day," Dr. Nik says, "and my goal is to provide compassionate care to each patient using the best treatment options for each one."

After completion of his training, he moved to California. There Dr. Nik served as a neurohospitalist for John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Indio and Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, where he was involved in resident teaching as well as community outreach including appearing on the local NBC affiliate and lecturing at the Mizell Senior Center. Since December 2015, he has joined the Mission Heritage Medical Group, where he continues to provide compassionate care to those with neurological illness.

Dr. Nik is also active in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society amongst other associations including the American Academy of Neurology, the American Heart Association, and the American Medical Association.
